PlanBuddy: Smart Life Manager ("we," "our," or "the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
Core Principle: PlanBuddy is a "Local-First" application. Most of your data is stored securely on your own device and is never sent to our servers.
1. Information We Collect
To provide its core features, the App handles the following types of data:
- Financial Information: We allow you to manually enter income, expenses, and account balances. This data is used solely for budget tracking and personal finance management. The app does NOT connect to your bank accounts.
- Health & Fitness Data: We track water intake, exercise duration, and medication schedules based on your manual input to provide health insights.
- Personal Information: We may store your name or email address if provided for profile personalization.
- Media Files: The App allows you to record voice notes, capture video memos, and save photos of medical prescriptions. These files stay on your device unless you choose to back them up.
2. Use of Permissions
The App requests the following sensitive permissions to function:
- Camera & Microphone: Used exclusively for capturing video/audio notes and prescription photos when initiated by you.
- Storage: Required to save your notes, documents, and backups on your device.
- Biometrics: Used to secure the "Vault" feature via your device's fingerprint or face unlock. We never see or store your actual biometric data.
3. Data Storage and Security
- Local Storage: All financial and health records are stored in a private database on your device.
- Encryption: Sensitive data in the "Vault" is encrypted using industry-standard AES-256 encryption.
- Cloud Backup: If you use the "Cloud Backup" feature, your data is uploaded to your own private Google Drive. We do not have access to your Google Drive files.
4. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services that may collect information used to identify you:
- Google Play Services: For app functionality and updates.
- Google AdMob: We show advertisements using Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers to serve personalized or non-personalized ads. You can manage ad preferences in your device settings.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal, financial, or health data with any third parties for marketing or any other purposes. Data is only shared when required by law or to provide the specific services you have requested (e.g., syncing with your own Google Drive).
6. User Rights & Data Deletion
You have full control over your data. You can delete individual records or use the "Wipe All Data" feature within the App settings to permanently erase all information from your device.
